We are delighted to introduce James West, our new Business Development Manager for Scotland and Ireland, who recently joined our growing team! We chatted with him to learn about his background, goals, and why he chose to join the business.
James, tell us a little bit about your background.
I have worked across the sales and leisure industry for over 30 years, starting my career in the automotive industry. Along with some other sectors, I spent a lot of time working in holiday and residential parks across Ireland, which has given me broad knowledge and understanding of both the products and the needs of lodge and residential park requirements.
What made you choose Sunseeker Holiday Homes?
I have previously sat on the retail end of the market and am keen to get into the manufacturing side. I was one of the first advocates for Sunseeker Holiday Homes purchasing models for a holiday park in Northern Ireland, so it’s fantastic to loop back around. The new residential park home models sparked my keen interest, and I am eager to get started. I am also East Yorkshire born and bred, despite now residing in the beautiful Donaghade in Northern Ireland, and will look forward to travelling back.
What will the first six months in your role at Sunseeker be focused on?
I will be busy targeting as many customers in Scotland and Ireland, building brand awareness and making as much noise as possible about Sunseeker Holiday Homes. We’ve got some great activities coming up, such as the Sunseeker annual golf day and the Cottingham show in September. I am keen to get as many pairs of eyes as possible on the innovation and style across their model range, and, particularly, the new 2026 models.
And finally, tell us about yourself.
I have been married to Gayle for 22 years, and we have a grown-up daughter named Jemima who attends university in York.
Along with spending time with my daughter Jemima’s Labrador Primrose on the beautiful Donaghade coast, I am passionate about golf and spent 35 years as a member of Hull Golf Club before moving to Northern Ireland. We have a very active lifestyle, and I also enjoy rugby and winter sports.
